Indiana Regional Medical Center is one of many area hospitals participating in the 16th annual Cameos of Caring awards program, sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.
Cameos of Caring was created in 1999 to honor exceptional bedside nurses who work at acute care hospitals. During the first year, 20 hospitals throughout Western Pennsylvania joined the Cameos of Caring family. Each selected on a nurse from its facility who demonstrated excellence in nursing care.
The awards honor a nurse from each hospital who demonstrates excellence in nursing care, serves as an effective advocate for patients and their families and acts as a role model for the profession of nursing.One of our IRMC employees will be selected from these nomination forms to represent IRMC at the 16th annual Cameos of Caring Awards Gala at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The IRMC representative will be announced in May during a celebration for all Cameos of Caring nominees.
Rules and Regulations for nominations:
- Must be a registered staff nurse of IRMC involved in direct patient care.
- Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the art of nursing and have a strong desire to use this knowledge to improve the delivery of patient care.
- Must demonstrate a commitment to consistent, clinical decision-making and excellence in nursing care.
- Must serve as an effective advocate for patients and families.
- Must, by example, encourage and motivate others and be recognized as a role model for the profession of nursing.
- Be specific about how this nurse does outstanding work for patients, the profession and/or community.
- Demonstrates a commitment to IRMC's mission and values.
- Must be committed to improving patient outcomes and our care processes.
